League Competitions

This season we have three senior-level cricket teams playing on Saturdays and Sundays. Our 1XI and 2XI are playing in the second-ever season of the North West Cricket League after the Bolton Cricket League and Ribblesdale League merged at the end of the 2022 season.

We hope to improve on last season's up and down results (and weather!).

We also compete in a T20 competition with games taking place on Friday evenings. These are usually in the heat of summer so are sure to bring in the crowds and make a good night for all (depending on the result maybe!).

Our 3XI plays in the Greater Manchester Cricket League with matches played on Sundays.

Cup Competitions

Our 2XI reached the semi-final of the Ramsbottom Cup last year losing out to Farnworth CC, who went on to win.

There are 6 cup competitions throughout the season. Hoping to improve last year's results, we are all excited to see what our teams can do this year.

We can't not mention our 2022 heroics, as our 1XI won one of the oldest amateur cricket competition in the country for the first time, The Hamer Cup, which started in 1930!

Club Captains
  • 1XI - Matthew Hargraves

  • 2XI - Ady Cooper

2023 SEASON

Take a look back at ABCC's 2023 cricket year, focusing on the highs and lows that go along with Village Cricket!
Seniors

Our 1XI had mixed results last season but secured a top-half finish in 9th meaning Premiership Top division cricket for 2024!

We hope to improve on last seasons up and down results (and weather!).

Our 2XI had a great season finishing 3rd behind the two Farnworth's in the league and reaching the semi-final of the Ramsbottom Cup loosing out to Farnworth CC, who went on to win.

A big highlight was 14 year old Mo Faiz making his 1XI debut taking 6-47! A hit for the 1XI, we would be lying saying that he wasn't missed greatly for 2XI.

The returning Lesiba Ngoepe Pro was a hit again and Ulli Bronkhorst arrived as our Amateur Overseas. We will see Ulli again in 2024!

Juniors

Our U18s finished 6th in the league, after only 5 matches to due weather, whilst reaching the final in the cup, loosing to a good, Westhoughton side.

- U15s finished 4th and reached the final in the cup, only loosing to Farnworth SC.

- U13s won league!

- U11s came third and reached the Semi-Final in the cup.

Summer Camp

A successful summer camp back in August!

Even though the weather did it’s best to scupper the camp, the coaches did a great job of keeping the players entertained indoors with lots of fun and games to keep them active!

Thanks to all the coaches for their support and for those organising the camp.

We will hope to do the same again next season with some better weather.

Junior Festivals

WOW WHAT A SUCCESS!

U9s First in June...
An enormous shame we couldn’t complete the full festival due to the unfortunate rain!
Massive thanks to our sponsors Alimentary Solutions & Kumar Tutoring.
Huge thanks Krish, Farouk & all the others involved in arranging the event before hand and volunteering on the day, you know who you are, there are too many to name! As always it’s so appreciated by all at the club, THANK YOU once again! For your time, effort and money to make the event go ahead!
Thanks to the clubs that brought a team down to the event and the sponsors of each team!

Followed by U11s in July...
Congratulations to East Lancs Eagles who were victorious in our under 11s festival (Sponsored by Alimentary Solutions & Kumar Tutoring) with Bradshaw Cricket Club as runners up!
What a great day once again, so much cricket played, so much fun had! We had to contest with the weather again but we managed to have a full tournament in the end.
Thanks to all those that helped organise the event before and on the day to help the event run smoothly.
Thanks to those who sponsored the teams and the teams who took part.
