This season we have three senior-level cricket teams playing on Saturdays and Sundays. Our 1XI and 2XI are playing in the second-ever season of the North West Cricket League after the Bolton Cricket League and Ribblesdale League merged at the end of the 2022 season.
We hope to improve on last season's up and down results (and weather!).
We also compete in a T20 competition with games taking place on Friday evenings. These are usually in the heat of summer so are sure to bring in the crowds and make a good night for all (depending on the result maybe!).
Our 3XI plays in the Greater Manchester Cricket League with matches played on Sundays.
Our 2XI reached the semi-final of the Ramsbottom Cup last year losing out to Farnworth CC, who went on to win.
There are 6 cup competitions throughout the season. Hoping to improve last year's results, we are all excited to see what our teams can do this year.
We can't not mention our 2022 heroics, as our 1XI won one of the oldest amateur cricket competition in the country for the first time, The Hamer Cup, which started in 1930!
1XI - Matthew Hargraves
2XI - Ady Cooper
3XI - Zahid Makkan

Our 1st XI had a season of mixed results but ultimately secured a solid top-half finish in 9th place, ensuring we’ll be playing Premiership Top Division cricket in 2024! With a bit more consistency—on the pitch and hopefully with the weather—we’re aiming to build on last season and push even higher.
Our 2nd XI enjoyed a fantastic season, finishing 3rd in the league, just behind the two Farnworth sides. We also made it to the semi-final of the Ramsbottom Cup, narrowly missing out against Farnworth CC, who went on to lift the trophy.
One of the standout moments of the year was 14-year-old Mo Faiz making his 1st XI debut—and what a debut it was, taking 6-47! A huge asset to the 1st XI, and needless to say, his absence was definitely felt in the 2nd XI ranks.
We were once again thrilled to welcome back Lesiba Ngoepe as our professional—always a fan favourite—and Ulli Bronkhorst joined us as our Amateur Overseas player, making a strong impression throughout the season. We’re excited to confirm that Ulli will be returning for 2024!
It was a strong season across the board for our junior teams, with plenty of promise for the future despite a weather-affected schedule.
U18s finished 6th in the league after only managing to play 5 matches due to the weather. They also had a fantastic cup run, reaching the final before narrowly losing to a strong Westhoughton side.
U15s finished a solid 4th in the league and also made it to the cup final, falling just short against Farnworth SC.
U13s were the standout performers of the year, going all the way to win the league—a huge achievement and one to be proud of!
U11s had a great season too, finishing 3rd in the league and making it to the semi-final of the cup.
There’s plenty of talent coming through the ranks, and we’re incredibly proud of all our junior players and coaches for their hard work and commitment throughout the season.
Our August Summer Camp was a big success—even if the weather tried its best to interfere!
Thanks to the creativity and enthusiasm of our coaching team, the players stayed engaged with plenty of indoor activities, fun games, and team-building exercises that kept everyone active and smiling throughout.
A big thank you to all the coaches and organisers who helped make it a success. We’re already looking forward to running the camp again next season—hopefully with a lot more sunshine!
WOW, What a Success!
What a fantastic start to our Junior Festival season—despite the rain cutting things short, the enthusiasm and community spirit shone through!
A huge thank you to our sponsors Alimentary Solutions and Kumar Tutoring for their generous support.
Special thanks to Krish, Farouk, and everyone else who worked hard behind the scenes and volunteered on the day—there are far too many of you to name individually, but your contributions were truly appreciated by everyone at the club. THANK YOU for your time, effort, and generosity in making the event happen!
We’re also incredibly grateful to all the clubs who brought teams and to the team sponsors for supporting the festival. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, it was a brilliant day while it lasted!
Next up, our U11s Festival in July—and this time we managed to complete the full tournament, despite some more unhelpful weather!
Congratulations to East Lancs Eagles, the well-deserved winners, and to Bradshaw Cricket Club who finished as runners-up. What a day! So much cricket was played and so much fun was had—it was a brilliant event from start to finish.
Once again, Alimentary Solutions and Kumar Tutoring sponsored the event, and we thank them sincerely for their continued support.
Thanks to everyone who helped organise the event, both in advance and on the day, to ensure everything ran smoothly. And of course, a big shout-out to all the teams who took part and the team sponsors—we couldn't do it without you!
Here’s to even more sunshine and success in next year’s festivals!
