END OF SEASON

Senior's...

Our First Team had some poor results last season which does mean we were relegated from the NWCL Premiership, to the NWCL Championship after finishing 11th place.

What was poor in the league became consistent in cup competitions however, reaching the semi-final of the Hamer Cup only to lose against Little Lever CC who them themselves lost in the final against Championship side, Read CC.

A new division does mean some new grounds for players and spectators to visit.

Already making moves for next year, we are delighted to announce the signing of Syd De Silva as our new first team Captain. Syd makes a return to the club after a few years away.

The Second Team unfortunately also had an off season, suffering relegation from their respective league. A shock as we finished 3rd the previous year.

Similar to the first team, we did have some success in the cup, reaching the Quarter Final against Cherry Tree CC.

A big highlight was Ismael Patel hitting his maiden ton for our first team whilst also taking 4-45 with the ball.

The arrival of professional Alex Kok had a massive impact to our juniors, turning up on Friday nights in a coat and hat! Ulli Bronkhorst arrived as our Amateur Overseas for the second year running, and again was a massive hit, peaking towards the end of the season.

SENIOR CRICKET

League Competitions

This season we have three senior level cricket teams playing on Saturdays and Sundays. Our 1XI and 2XI are playing in the second ever season of the North West Cricket League after the Bolton Cricket League and Ribblesdale League merged at the end of the 2022 season.

We hope to improve on last seasons up and down results (and weather!).

We also compete in a T20 competition with games taking place Friday evenings. These are usually in the heat of summer so are sure to bring in the crowds and make a good night for all (depending on result maybe!).

Our 3XI play in the Greater Manchester Cricket League with matches played on Sundays.

Cup Competitions

Our 2XI reached the semi-final of the Ramsbottom Cup last year losing out to Farnworth CC, who went on to win.

There are 6 cup competitions throughout the season. Hoping to improve last years results, we are all excited to see what our teams can do this year.

We can't not mention our 2022 heroics, as our 1XI won one of the oldest amateur cricket competition in the country for the first time , The Hamer Cup, which started in 1930!

Club Captains
  • 1XI - Matthew Hargraves
  • 2XI - Ady Cooper
